Yamaha X-Max 250 unveiled from RM24,000
By MENG YEW CHOONG | 02 August 2023PETALING JAYA: Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) Sdn Bhd has updated its popular 250cc scooter by unveiling the Yamaha X-Max 250 on Friday.
In his speech at the launch event, Hoo Wan Tim, HLYM's general manager for 3S & Marketing said the 250cc automatic segment has seen a category growth of 266% when HLYM first introduced the XMAX in 2018.
"The XMAX has contributed to the industry's growth and is the current market leader in this segment," he said as he presented the updated version called the 2023 Yamaha X-Max 250.
"We think this is what the market has been waiting for. Keeping the embodiment of both style and innovation. With its positioning, the new Yamaha X-Max 250 offers riders a fresh sporty look complemented with the innovative TFT screen and free Garmin navigation system together with the StreetCross application, also incorporating the Yamaha Y-connect for an enhanced riding experience.
New Yamaha XMAX owners can use the Garmin navigation for free by installing the StreetCross application, with GPS navigation shown on the 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster.
With these features, riders can stay connected on the road while receiving essential riding information like service notifications and fuel efficiency data for an enhanced riding experience.
"The Yamaha X-Max 250 is the 3rd Yamaha model to feature the Y-Connect after the NVX and R15M models," he said.
The most visible indication is a dynamic bodywork and a distinctive new face – an X-shaped LED headlight that gives the moniker "X".
Other features include better safety features such as the high-mounted LED front flashers to make signalling more visible to other road users.
"Taking in feedback from our valued customers, the new Yamaha X-Max 250 now also comes with a slimmer seat for a more comfortable ride."
The facelifted version retains the proven Euro 4 250cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine that was seen in the outgoing version.
The new Yamaha X-Max 250 comes in two modern colours - Mam Silver and Icon Blue, with the bikes available at all authorised Yamaha dealers by this week onwards.
The X-Max 250 costs RM23,998, excluding insurance and registration fees, with more details available from www.yamaha-motor.com.my.
