WATCH LIVE: CKD Proton X70 launch

PETALING JAYA: Today is the big day for Proton as it launches the locally assembled version of the popular X70 SUV.

The X70 debuted as a fully imported model from China in December 2018.

Proton said it has upgraded the 2020 X70 with several key new features that will help it maintain its standing as the most popular C-segment premium SUV in Malaysia.

The biggest change is the adoption of a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission that replaces the 6-speed automatic. In addition, Proton has dropped a 4WD version; all four variants are now 2-wheel driven at the front.
