WOLFSBURG: Volkswagen (VW) dominated this year's Automotive Brand Contest by winning five awards within the automotive design segment.
The contest is the only independent, international design competition for automotive brands.
The German carmaker's ID.3 (not yet available for sale) electric vehicle was named “Best of Best” in the “Exterior Volume Brand” and “Interior Volume Brand” categories.
The new eighth-generation VW Golf, launched in late 2019, received awards in the “Exterior Volume Brand” and “Interior Volume Brand” categories.
As for the seventh model within the "ID." family, the ID. SPACE VIZZION concept car, it was deemed the winner in the "Concepts" category for its aerodynamic design and spacious interior.
The Automotive Brand Contest was established in 2011 with an interdisciplinary panel consisting of members working in media, design, industrial companies, higher education institutions and architecture.
The official awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Frankfurt, Germany in the third quarter this year.
