Volvo Certified Damage Repair Centre opens at two sites for a start
By CARSIFU | 10 September 2022KUALA LUMPUR: Volvo Car Malaysia introduced its first dedicated body repair and paint service facilities through the launch of the Volvo Certified Damage Repair Centre (VCDR).
Now available at Federal Auto Cars, Glenmarie and Sime Darby Swedish Auto, Ara Damansara, Volvo said customers would benefit from an end-to-end high quality body repair and paint service.
Volvo Cars APEC head Nick Connor and Volvo Cars managing director Charles Frump were present to launch VCDR in both locations on Thursday.
Focusing on providing quick and efficient body repair and paint services, VCDR is managed by a cost-effective resource management that ensures overall business agility. The overall repair quality is committed using advanced tools and equipment combined with strict adherence to the standard Volvo processes.
“We want our customers to walk away with a Volvo car in complete peace of mind knowing that we are ready to provide them with Volvo’s international standard of care for their vehicles,” said Frump.
“By introducing VCDR within our dealer network, it enables our customers to enjoy vehicles that provides them a lifelong lifespan.”
The VCDR standard integrates the use of sustainable technology for their body and paint repair services, such as a low-pressure ventilation system with automatic controls that reduces the emission of carbon dioxide, emission of microscopic particles, and energy consumption.
Additionally, the machinery uses batteries when heating the electric system, and more than 80% of the air will be sucked in through a filtration system that reduces energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The use of Volatile Organic Compounds in paint is now replaced with a water-based paint, reducing employee’s exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Equipped with the latest technology and trained technicians, Federal Auto Cars Glenmarie, and Sime Darby Motors Centralised Body and Paint Centre are the first two Volvo service centres in Malaysia to be aligned with the VCDR standards.
Measuring at 11,133 square feet, each of these facilities can handle up to a volume of 1,260 vehicles per year.
