Updated Volvo XC60 Recharge T8 unveiled with smarter infotainment system
By CARSIFU | 25 November 2021KUALA LUMPUR: Volvo Car Malaysia has updated the Volvo XC60 Recharge T8 with a fresher look, more safety features and new infotainment integration with Google Services.
Dubbed the "Smarter XC60", the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) gets a new Digital Services Package consisting of an integrated voice-controlled Google Assistant which enables control of many in-car applications including Google Maps to be done hands-free.
The upgrade is a culmination of partnership between Volvo Cars and Google to provide a first-of-its-kind built-in infotainment system, complete with a host of Google Services.
Aside from Google Services, the XC60 also gets Volvo Car App and Connected Services that connects to owners and enabling convenient remote control of several car functions.
By simply using the mobile device or voice control, owners can remotely pre-climatise the parked XC60, check car status, lock or unlock the doors and much more.
The XC60 is also equipped with Volvo’s latest active safety system, the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), that comes with collision avoidance, lane keeping aid, run-off road mitigation, cross traffic alert with auto braking, Blind Spot Information System and a surround view camera.
From the outside, new XC60 features rich Scandinavian design which includes a new grille, new front bumpers, a new exterior colour and new 19-inch six-multispoke black diamond-cut alloy wheel design.
Inside, it has a Bowers and Wilkins sound system.
Its range of driver’s preferences allows the car to be driven from Pure Electric mode with zero tailpipe emissions for the environmentally-conscious to Power mode for the driving excitement.
It also has an all-electric driving range of 45km.
Powering the XC60 is a 4-cylinder 2.0-litre turbocharged and supercharged engine with an electric motor that delivers a total output of 407hp and 640Nm of torque, coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission with Geatronic.
It can do the 0-100kph sprint in 5.3 seconds, as well as a fuel efficiency of 2.2 litres per 100km.
Volvo Car Malaysia managing director Charles Frump said the XC60 equipped with Google Services delivers the most intuitive infotainment experience in the automotive industry.
“It fully delivers on our brand promise to provide the freedom to move in a personal, sustainable and safe way,” said
Priced from RM325,449, the "Smarter XC60" is available for viewing at all authorised Volvo dealers across the nation.
