By CARSIFU | 07 February 2024PETALING JAYA: The 2024 Kia Carnival 7-seater and 8-seater variants see some mild refresh and are now available for booking.
The locally assembled Carnival 7-seater and 8-seater variants now feature an interior with black and gray leatherette finishing.
Both variants are also equipped with new 19-inch black alloy wheels as standard to enhance their overall appearance.
Other than that, the rest of the specifications of both variants remain unchanged from the ones that they replaced.
This includes premium features such as front styling with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), dual power sunroof, smart power sliding doors and smart power tailgate.
Both variants continue to offer heated and ventilated seats, interior LED lamps and surround view monitor.
The Premium Relaxion seats are exclusive to the 7-seater High variant. They offer a centre walkthrough seat configuration, providing added convenience and versatility for passengers.
The fourth-generation Carnival is fitted with a range of advanced technology and connectivity features.
Standard offerings include a 12.3-inch high-resolution touchscreen infotainment system with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Added connectivity comes in the form of wireless smartphone charging, Bluetooth connectivity and seven USB ports.
Kia said the Carnival is also strong on safety.
Both variants feature seven airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, traction control system, multi-collision brake control, Isofix child restraint anchor points and top tethers as well as hill-start assist control.
The Carnival also comes equipped with newly added blind-spot view monitor, while the other advanced safety features remain unchanged.
The Carnival is powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission controlled by an electronic shifter.
The engine produces 199hp at 3,800rpm and 440Nm of torque from just 1,750 – 2,750rpm, offering smooth, linear acceleration.
The vehicle is now officially open for booking with a starting price of RM 245,888.00 and comes with a 5-year manufacturer warranty (ie five years/100,000km mileage, whichever comes first). It also comes with a 5-year free scheduled maintenance with the same terms.
The Carnival is assembled at the Inokom plant in Kulim, Kedah. Four colours are available: Astra Blue, Snow White Pearl, Meteor Gray and Jet Black.
For those who want more than 8 seats, the Carnival is also available as a four-row 11-seater that's priced from RM198,500.
