Upcoming electric Hummer set for Oct 20 debut, can move diagonally like a crab
By CARSIFU | 15 September 2020
DETROIT: GMC has confirmed that the electric Hummer will make its world debut on Oct 20.
Its planned debut on May 20 was postponed to Oct 20 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
To mark the annoucement, GMC released a teaser video about the vehicle's "Crab" mode.
The Crab Mode feature is enabled by the GMC HUMMER EV’s four-wheel steering capability, allowing it to move in a diagonal direction – functionality that is tailor-made for off-roading customers.
The Hummer would be available in truck or SUV body styles. GM may also adapt the new Hummer as US military transport vehicles.
Customer reservations for the Hummer would be available through GMC.com on Oct 20. GMC said deliveries are set to start in fall 2021.
It would announce details about how to watch the Hummer debut closer to the date.
