UMW Toyota sells 23,444 vehicles in Q1

PETALING JAYA: UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) registered 9,688 vehicle sales in March, taking its first-quarter (1Q24) sales to 23,444 units.
The distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles had achieved total sales of 25,219 units in 1Q23.
According to a statement from the group, the March 2024 figures comprised the sale of 9,471 Toyota vehicles and 217 units of Lexus.
In a move towards sustainable mobility, UMWT has announced its collaboration with the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry to underscore its commitment to carbon neutrality.
This collaboration culminated in a groundbreaking ceremony where UMWT handed over a Toyota Mirai, a hydrogen-powered vehicle, symbolising a key step towards realising the nation’s Hydrogen Economy and Technology Roadmap.
UMWT president Datuk Ravindran Kurusamy said the company is adopting a multi-pathway approach towards carbon neutrality.
