Japan's ultra-exclusive Magarigawa driving club set to open in spring 2023

Construction of the track is still in progress.

TOKYO: For wealthy car lovers looking to live and play with their 800hp supercars, the Magarigawa Club could be just what they are looking for.

Asia's first full-fledged private driving club is set to open in the spring of 2023.

At its perimeter are luxury villas for sale. In the first round of bidding, all five units of the villas have sold out.

Four more villas are to be offered for sale before the opening of the club.

The Magarigawa Villa

Named Owner’s Paddock, the accommodation is villa-style offering independence and privacy with immediate access to the clubhouse building with its hot spring baths, spa facilities, restaurant, bar lounge and fitness and training rooms.

Each villa has a private garage and a terrace with views over the driving track below.

The private space takes advantage of the sloping terrain and is integrated into the surrounding environment, allowing the owner to enjoy safe and relaxing moments with family and friends after a day's driving.

Only 50 memberships are offered with each priced at 29.8 million yen (a little over RM1mil). The offer period ends on June 30.

The club itself is divided into two decks, with an upper level giving a panoramic view of the clubhouse and Owner's Paddock/driving course. The lower level comprises a clubhouse restaurant, pool and bar lounge.

Located in a hilly part of Chiba prefecture, the driving club area spans 1 million sq m, with a track created by Tilke Engineering, which have designed over 80 racetracks worldwide including 19 Formula One circuits.

The track stretches 3.5km. It has a 800m long straight, 22 corners and elevation change of 80m. The maximum ascent is 20% and maximum descent is 16%.

It is located about an hour's drive from Tokyo and Haneda airport.
