Two BMW i5 Touring versions to choose from
By CARSIFU | 07 February 2024MUNICH: In the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring, two highly integrated drive units on the front and rear axles together form an electric all-wheel drive with up to 442 kW/601hp.
With M Launch Control or M Sport Boost activated, the system torque is increased to 820 Nm.
The top model accelerates from a standstill to 100kph in 3.9 seconds and its top speed is electronically limited to 230kph.
The electric motor of the i5 eDrive40 Touring is located on the rear axle (combined power consumption according to WLTP: 19.3 to 16.5 kWh/100 km) and generates a maximum output of 250 kW/340 hp and a maximum torque of up to 430Nm with Sport Boost or Launch Control function.
The i5 eDrive40 Touring accelerates from zero to 100 kph in 6.1 seconds.
In both model variants, the high-voltage battery located in the underbody provides a usable energy content of 81.2kWh.
The range determined in the WLTP test procedure is 445 to 506km for the i5 M60 xDrive Touring and 483 to 560km for the i5 eDrive40 Touring.
The battery can be charged with alternating current with an output of up to 11kW as standard and up to 22kW as an option.
The high-voltage battery can be charged with direct current with a power of up to 205kW.
