Toyota Thailand on hybrid offensive: 4 new HEVs to roll out in 2023
By CARSIFU | 21 March 2023BANGKOK: Toyota Motor Thailand will launch four new hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) in 2023.
At Bangkok International Motor Show 2023, the company's president Noriaki Yamashita said the HEVs would further meet the diverse needs of Thai customers, and reduce C02 emissions.
"Toyota introduced the Camry HEV in 2009 as the first electrified vehicle and sold around
160,000 HEVs until now. It contributed over 850,000 tonnes of CO2 reduction (equal to planting over 2.5 million trees). Now, Toyota is offering 6 electrified vehicles which are 5 HEVs and bZ4X BEV or battery electric vehicle, as a leader in electrification," he said.
The motor show is being held on 22 March – 2 April, 2023 at the Challenger Hall, Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani.
At the Toyota display area, visitors were dazzled by concept vehicles with diverse powertrains namely the Hilux Revo BEV Concept, LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) HEV Taxi Concept, and Corolla Cross Hydrogen Concept.
Also thrilling visitors is the new Prius HEV, which went on sale in Japan in January 2023, and is powered by the latest fifth-generation hybrid system in both the 2.0-litre and 1.8-litre models.
