Toyota names new man to helm Asian ops
By CARSIFU | 01 April 2022SINGAPORE: Toyota Motor Corporation has appointed Hao Quoc Tien (inset) as new CEO for Asia Region and president of Toyota Motor Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.
He replaces Yoichi Miyazaki, who has been promoted to Toyota Motor Corporation's operating officer and global chief competitive officer.
Hao joined Toyota Canada in 1999. Since then, he has held several key executive posts in sales and marketing for Toyota and Lexus in several regions namely North America, Japan, China and Singapore.
In his new role, Hao will lead the on-going transformation of Toyota in Asia from an automotive to a mobility company, focusing on achieving its ambitious business plans in Asia.
This includes the launch of various electrified vehicles, the drive towards carbon neutrality across the entire value chain, and the start of multiple new mobility initiatives through collaboration with partners in the region.
