Toyota launches versatile Hilux Champ in Thailand from RM61K
By CARSIFU | 01 December 2023BANGKOK: Toyota has launched the IMV 0 (Zero) pickup truck in Thailand.
Toyota Motor Thailand said orders for the new IMV series model called Hilux Champ are now open, promising a ride that blends affordability with innovation.
Prices range from 459,000 baht to 577,000 baht (from RM61,000 to RM77,000).
The IMV (Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle ) series was developed under the leadership of Akio Toyoda, to contribute to the Asian economy and harness the skills of local engineers.
The series consists of pickup trucks, multi-purpose vehicles and sports utility vehicles.
Since its introduction in Thailand in 2004, the IMV pickup has expanded its reach to over 180 countries. With over 2.7 million units sold domestically and over 4 million exported, the IMV series has significantly benefited the Thai economy.
The IMV 0 concept made its world premiere at the recently concluded Japan Mobility Show 2023.
With the IMV o, Toyota has taken a step back to its roots to create a pickup that is not only affordable but also tailored to the evolving lifestyles of Thai customers.
In Thailand, the Hilux Champ is positioned as a versatile mobility product that can be adapted for business and private use.
At the launch in Thailand last week, Toyota introduced 11 customised versions of the 2-seat Hilux Champ.
Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. is offering eight grades, catering to various business styles and uses. With short and long-wheelbase versions, three engine types, and an unequipped type with a flat deck, customers are given a range of options.
The engines used are a 2.0-litre petrol engine, a 2.7-litre petrol engine and a 2.4-litre diesel engine.
Highlighting its ability to be customised easily, the IMV 0 truck features a deck with bolt holes at multiple locations, allowing easy attachment of custom accessories using bolts and nuts.
For customers seeking further customisation, Toyota Motor Thailand would point them to over 100 accessory manufacturers allied with it.
The Hilux Champ will be produced at Toyota's Samrong plant in Thailand.
