Tesla Model S Plaid tuned for drag racing
By CARSIFU | 14 October 2023LOS ANGELES: US race car driver Ndubisi Bisi Ezerioha is partnering with Unplugged Performance to electrify drag racing. He will be driving a 2022 Tesla Model S Plaid, equipped with UP-03 lightweight forged wheels and 305-wide Toyo R888R tyres.
Unplugged Performance, based here, is the world’s first tuning company with a focus exclusively on the Model S.
It will provide billet adjustable rear camber and toe arms, a tow hitch kit, and a specially designed parachute mount, which is required by the National Hot Rod Association and International Hot Rod Association for cars exceeding 240kph in the quarter mile.
The partnership is just the start, with the duo planning to collaborate on product development to enhance the Model S Plaid's drag racing capabilities.
Ezerioha aka Bisimoto will document every step of the journey, from the installation of Unplugged Performance parts to the technical theories behind their performance gains.
"We're electrifying the drag strip, and Unplugged Performance is our secret weapon. Together, we're rewriting the rules of what electric cars can do on the track," said Bisimoto, who is also an entrepreneur and engine builder.
The Bisimoto X Unplugged Performance Tesla Model S Plaid will be on display at Electrify Expo Miami on Oct 14-15.
