Tech giants join forces to develop tomorrow's intelligent automotive cockpit

SAN FRANCISCO: Google and the semiconductor giant Qualcomm have teamed up to develop a future generation of automotive cockpits, based on the new Snapdragon Cockpit Elite and Snapdragon Ride Elite platforms.

These feature new, ever more powerful processors, enhancing the company's Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions specifically for the automotive industry.

For its part, Google is contributing its software expertise through its Android Automotive OS and its Google Cloud offering. But above all, the idea is to work together to build a standard for AI-enabled digital cockpits.

By taking advantage of Qualcomm's latest developments, the aim is to optimise the development of connected services.

The two companies are announcing new in-vehicle experiences, based on generative AI, for personalised voice assistants, mapping software and updates, determined in real time to anticipate driver needs.

Ultimately, their aim is to provide a standardised reference framework for the development of interfaces that are customisable by automakers, are particularly responsive to driver requests, and which can be updated at any time.

The aim is to simplify the integration of such technology into future vehicle models for partner manufacturers.
