Suzuki's first e Vitara BEV adopts eAxle
By CARSIFU | 20 January 2025TOKYO: Suzuki's first mass-produced battery electric vehicle (BEV) model, the e Vitara, will be fitted with the eAxle which was jointly developed by BluE Nexus Corp, Aisin Corp and Denso Corp.
The e Vitara, developed based on the concept of “Emotional Versatile Cruiser”, was launched in India last week.
In a statement, Suzuki said the new eAxle uses a small motor and inverter to achieve high power density and high dynamic performance.
Moreover, its loss reduction technology also contributes to efficient electrical consumption.
The product will be supplied by BluE's Indian subsidiary, BluE Nexus Automotive India Pvt Ltd and manufactured in India.
Suzuki said the e Vitara's production in India by Suzuki Motor Gujarat will contribute to the rollout of BEVs globally while BluE, Aisin, and Denso will continue to develop compact, highly efficient, low-cost products by leveraging their respective strengths and know-how.
