Subaru Malaysia re-opens for car sales and services
By CARSIFU | 15 May 2020KUALA LUMPUR: TC Subaru Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in Malaysia, has reopened all its showrooms and service centres, which operate under Motor Image (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
Motor Image’s showrooms in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang and Johor have now fully resumed operations.
Motor Image’s service centres in Petaling Jaya, Cheras, Johor Bahru, Georgetown and Bukit Mertajam will continue to operate within the limited hours allowed by their respective state councils for the extended conditional Movement Control Order (MCO) period till June 9, 2020.
Only servicing and maintenance, accident repairs and breakdown services are available for now.
Motor Image Bukit Jelutong has resumed body repair and paintwork services.
Authorised Subaru dealers have also resumed partial showroom and service centre operations.
In all work areas, enhanced cleaning and safe distancing measures have been put in place.
All touch points, including computers, stationery, counters, desktops and common areas are sanitised daily before the start of the workday and at the end of the day.
Staff are also required to wear face masks at work.
For customers, those with body temperatures of 37.5 degrees Celsius and above will not be allowed to enter showrooms and service centres.
All visitors must also provide their contact details to facilitate contact tracing.
To ensure safe distancing, the company is also limiting the number of customers in Subaru showrooms at any one time.
Markers are in place to establish physical distancing of at least one metre.
During this period, refreshments will not be served in showrooms.
In adherence to regulations, TC Subaru has to close waiting areas at service centres.
Customers are requested to send in their vehicles and return to pick them up after the job is completed.
Customers are also advised not to bring their children along. All vehicles will be thoroughly sanitised before and after each job. Cashless payment options are encouraged.
Customers visiting showrooms or service centres in Selangor can download the state’s SELangkah app, an online registration system to ease contact tracing for individuals entering premises in the state.
Also, TC Subaru has introduced a ‘Test Drive at Home’ initiative for customers who do not wish to travel to the showrooms.
Customers can call any showroom and make an appointment for a salesperson to drive a Subaru to them for a test drive.
All vehicles are thoroughly sanitised before and after test drives, following a strict protocol to clean all touch points, including centre armrests, door handles, gear knobs, and so on.
All salespersons are equipped with face masks and sanitisers, and have their temperature checked upon coming to work and two more times during the day.
Any staff who has a temperature or any respiratory symptoms will be turned away and asked to see a doctor.
