Strength in numbers: Passengers lift cars to clear road, win online praise
By THE STAR | 28 October 2024KUALA LUMPUR: Lifting one car is no easy feat, yet a group of men lifted a few to clear the way for a bus.
A viral video showing several bus passengers working together to lift cars blocking a road has earned them praise and admiration.
The group of mostly middle-aged foreigners were seen lifting a few cars and pushing them closer to the curb to make way for a bus in the pouring rain.
Netizens praised their impressive strength and the sense of social responsibility the men showed.
A TikTok video by @abgzul08 post on Sunday, captured a diverse group of men, comprising mostly foreigners and a few locals who worked together to lift a grey car and then a red one on each side of the road.
The men guided each other and shared a few laughs as they manoeuvred the vehicles onto the side of the road.
The group seemed to work as a team first moving the front of the vehicles before going to the back and lifting it closer to the side of the road.
They were greeted with cheers with a woman being heard in the background saying "Well done boys".
The group was then seen boarding the bus after successfully clearing the way for the bus to pass safely.
The caption expressed gratitude for the men's actions, noting that they were passengers on a bus unable to pass due to the blocked cars, further highlighting their efforts to clear the way.
The video has garnered over 142,000 views and over 3,600 likes.
Comments on the posts included plenty of praise for the men with @alim3284 calling the group "Awesome" and saluting them for their efforts.
@farishiskandar said from this video one can see the example and their mentality, commending them on working together.
@Aqillahassan said "They do not look young and still were willing to help move the car. They could even laugh as they did it."
@mohamadnoor7265 said they were strong and did a great job but questioned where the authorities were. "Where is the police, they need to give them a summons. It is not right to park that way and take up part of the road."
