Sime Darby employees offered special deal to buy used cars
By CARSIFU | 22 September 2021PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Motors is turning to employees within the diversified group to buy the used cars it sells under the Sime Darby Auto Selection division.
It announced today an Employee Mobility at Ease Programme that offers them various incentives to buy the cars that include brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, MINI, Proton, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Lexus and Ford. The used car inventory numbers 300 cars at present.
Under the programme, Sime Darby employees are offered the convenience of owning a car without the hassle of traditional car ownership by paying a fixed monthly fee for a short lock-in period of one year.
The monthly fee will not only cover the car, but also insurance, road tax, maintenance and wear and tear. The programme shields its users from unpredictable depreciation cost derived from various factors out of the user’s control.
Unlike most car owners in Malaysia who are limited to a particular car for a five to nine-year period depending on the loan tenure, Sime Darby employees have the freedom to upgrade or switch to different models based on their needs after they return the car to Sime Darby Auto Selection upon completing the one-year term.
Sime Darby Bhd has a workforce of 20,000 employees, and has operations in 18 countries across the Asia Pacific region. However, the programme is opened only to employees within Peninsula Malaysia.
For customers who are non-employees, Sime Darby's used car unit had introduced an innovative mobility programme called "Fund Your Drive" earlier this month.
