By CARSIFU | 11 October 2022KUALA LUMPUR: Shell has announced the sale of the latest Shell Motorsports Collection featuring Bluetooth-controlled cars from some of its partnerships in motorsports.
For the first time, an array of OEM and motorsports partnerships were brought together to promote Shell’s V-Power fuel performance.
The collection of high-performance cars features seven models from some of the world’s top motorsport teams partnered with Shell.
These models are: Ferrari SF90; BMW M4 Motorsport; Nissan Formula E Gen 2 Car; Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC; Shell V-Power Racing Team Ford Mustang GT; Team Penske Indycar; and Team Penske Ford Mustang GT.
The collection comes with a proprietary battery which integrates a Bluetooth chip within a rechargeable lithium cell, developed in partnership with BrandBase and 12 right holders who include Ferrari, BMW, Hyundai, Ford and Nissan.
Each car comes with an electric motor and can be controlled by the player’s smartphones via the Shell Racing app.
The free app, which is available on App Store and Google Play, combines both remote and digital play.
The limited-edition Bluetooth remote-control cars are being released one model per week only at Shell stations nationwide from Oct 8 to Dec 8.
Customers can buy the collectors box at RM80 when they pump Shell V-Power Racing fuel for RM80 in a single receipt.
Separate car models or a smart Bluetooth battery are available at RM30 with a minimum fuel purchase of RM50 to complete the collection.
Alternatively, customers can get the Ferrari SF90 racing car and one smart battery for free when they buy selected Shell Helix Lubricant 4L at Shell stations.
To mark the launch of the latest remote-controlled collection, Shell is organising an event at KL Sentral from Oct 17-23 and at Mid Valley Megamall from Oct 26-30 to let the public try all seven racing car models on racetracks designed to present each car in their winning atmosphere.
