Rolls-Royce unveils Spectre Soulmate car honouring couple born in KL hospital 3 days apart

LONDON: Today is Valentine's Day and Rolls-Royce chose the occasion to introduce a bespoke Spectre that was ordered by a couple born in Malaysia.

The Spectre Soulmate is a car reflecting the personal history of its middle-aged customers.

The car incorporates details from the clients’ life, including a shared birth date and the couple’s journey together.

Born in the same hospital three days apart, the special date is inscribed on the driver’s side air vent, while the passenger-side vent features the commission date and the coordinates of the Rolls-Royce Goodwood headquarters in England.

The vehicle’s interior includes a Starlight Headliner that replicates the Kuala Lumpur night sky from the day the couple’s lives began.

Each constellation is embroidered in running-stitch detail. The car also features illuminated treadplates bearing the couple’s names, with his on the driver’s side and hers on the passenger side.

Externally, the Spectre Soulmate is finished in a two-tone Dark Emerald and Black, with a hand-painted Seashell coachline chosen by the couple’s daughter.

The design reflects the clients’ longstanding admiration for Rolls-Royce, an interest sparked during childhood.

The project marks the fulfillment of a 45-year ambition for the customer.

Apart from Rolls-Royce, Volkswagen is out to celebrate Valentine's Day as well.
