Rolls-Royce rolls out a Scent-sation

LONDON: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has launched Rolls-Royce Scent, a cabin fragrance created to complement the natural aromas of materials used in its vehicles.

The fragrance made its debut on the Phantom model and has been developed by an in-house perfumer from the brand’s Bespoke Collective.

Using patented technology, the scent is released subtly to provide a long-lasting olfactory experience.

The formulation includes notes of Amyris, Cedarwood, Rosewood, and Iris. These ingredients have been selected to offer a balanced aroma that enhances the vehicle’s interior environment.

Rolls-Royce's Bespoke Design general manager Martina Starke said that every aspect of the car’s interior is carefully considered, including the scents that arise from the high-quality materials.

A specialist department with expertise ranging from biochemistry to perfumery is involved in choosing leathers, woods, wools, and other surfaces.

This team also advises on the application of lacquers, dyes, and protective coatings, ensuring that each material’s natural aroma is maintained and enhanced.

Rolls-Royce Scent is expected to further differentiate the brand in the luxury automotive market by adding a new sensory dimension.
