Rolls-Royce reveals one-off Arcadia Droptail

LONDON: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has unveiled the Arcadia Droptail, a car made for a customer with a keen interest in architecture and design.

Inspired by the mythical Arcadia, symbolising a utopian harmony with nature, the vehicle was designed to serve as a relaxing space away from the client's bustling business life.

The design of the Arcadia Droptail draws from various global influences, including the lush modernist architecture of South-East Asia and the organic forms of British "Biomimetic" architecture.

The client's desire for the car to remain true to the initial concept sketches led to a distinctive roadster silhouette with nautical-inspired 'sail cowls' and a bold, low stance that captures the essence of modern luxury.

Externally, the Arcadia Droptail showcases a duotone colour scheme with a unique white paint infused with aluminum and glass particles, creating a shimmering effect that highlights the car's elegant lines. The use of carbon fiber painted in bespoke silver and meticulously polished exterior details further accentuates its refined aesthetics.

Inside, the focus shifts to the extensive use of Santos Straight Grain wood, selected for its intricate texture and visual appeal. Over 233 pieces of the wood were used throughout the interior. The leather upholstery, in bespoke white and tan hues, complements the wood, creating an environment of understated luxury.

A bespoke clock, featuring an intricate guilloché pattern and crafted with haute horlogerie techniques, underscores the vehicle's exclusivity.

The Arcadia Droptail is a significant achievement in the Rolls-Royce Coachbuild portfolio, showcasing the brand's capability to translate individual preferences into tangible expressions of luxury and elegance.
