PARIS: The Renault 5 Turbo 3E is Renault’s most powerful and most advanced road car ever.
Paying homage to its rallying heritage and groundbreaking use of turbocharged technology in French motoring, the new model not only revives an iconic design but also pioneers the emerging category of electric mini-supercars.
Just like bigger vehicles, it boasts impressive technical specifications (540hp, 0-100kph in under 3.5 seconds, carbon superstructure, etc.), while offering a high level of customisation to meet all requirements.
What's more, it has a minimum length/width ratio of 2.01, putting it in the same league as a supercar, but in a compact hot hatch format.

Built on a custom platform tailored to its ambitions and performance, Renault 5 Turbo 3E is the mini-supercar taking up a position alongside Renault 5 E-Tech electric (the city car) and Alpine A290 (the sporty city car).
Featuring a rear-wheel drive layout with dual in-wheel motors, the two-seat vehicle benefits from an impressive 4,800Nm of torque and immediate power delivery reminiscent of classic turbocharged engines.
The lightweight carbon fibre superstructure, coupled with a battery positioned beneath the floor, reduces weight while lowering the centre of gravity to enhance agility.
The resulting power-to-weight ratio of 2.7 kg per horsepower rivals that of established supercars, while an 800-volt architecture supports rapid DC fast charging – taking the battery from 15 to 80% in just 15 minutes.

Aesthetically, the Turbo 3E pays tribute to its predecessors with design cues that echo the original models, such as a prominent bumper, expansive rear wing, and distinctive LED lighting.
However, the new car has been refined for the electric era, with streamlined features to optimise aerodynamics and efficiency.
The cabin reflects the car’s sporty pedigree with bucket seats, premium Alcantara finishes, and a driver-centric digital dashboard featuring two OpenR screens.
Modern connectivity is provided via the OpenR Link system with built-in Google services, enhancing navigation and multimedia functions.

With an extensive personalisation programme and production limited to 1,980 numbered units, the Turbo 3E is meant to appeal to enthusiasts.
The Renault 5 Turbo 3E is set for launch across key markets in Europe, the Middle East, Japan and Australia, with reservations opening soon and first deliveries in 2027.
