Nissan-sponsored Redline Fitness Games' successful end paves way for 2025 edition

KUALA LUMPUR: Marking a return to the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC) for the second consecutive year, the "Redline Fitness Games Powered by Nissan" ended on a high note last weekend.

Held from July 13 to 14, this year’s event was built on the big response from its first edition in 2023, which had attracted over 6,000 participants and spectators.

Supported by Rakan Muda, an initiative under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the partnership highlighted a shared commitment to fostering a culture of health, fitness, and community spirit across Malaysia.

The event also saw one lucky participant, Amanda Chen, as the new owner of a new Nissan Navara Pro-4X pickup truck.

Nissan was the title sponsor again, and put up the lucky draw grand prize.

“More than just a competition, Redline Fitness Games represents a commitment to fostering a strong, healthy, and engaged community. This year’s record participation by local and international fitness enthusiasts surpassed last year’s numbers, bearing testament to the event's growing influence and the collective effort towards enhancing youth engagement and promoting a fit lifestyle across Malaysia,” said Redline events director Callum Meehan.

“We are excited to end the event with the Navara giveaway. The Navara Pro-4X, known for its strength and durability, perfectly aligns with the values of Redline Fitness Games and symbolises our commitment to excellence and adventure,” said Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd group chief executive officer Daniel Ho Wai Ming.

Redline Fitness Games is a fitness competition designed to push participants' physical and mental limits through a series of challenging workout stations. Each of the 12 stations tests various aspects of fitness, including cardiovascular endurance, strength, agility, and coordination.

Key to the Redline concept is the idea of "redlining" - pushing oneself to the peak of physical and mental performance.

To ensure inclusivity, the games featured a variety of categories to cater to different fitness levels: Singles Beginner, Singles Competitive, Singles Open, Doubles, and Team Relay. This diversity allowed participants from all walks of life to engage in the competition, from fitness novices to seasoned athletes.

In the competitive categories, the top performers were rewarded for their perseverance.

In the Men's Singles Competitive category, Marcus Funken secured first place, followed by Pierre Algret in second, and Nick Tisinger in third. The Women's Singles Competitive category saw Claire Nesbitt taking the top spot, with Jasmine Miedl and Yi Zhen Lim finishing second and third respectively. The winners in both categories received cash prizes of RM5,000, RM2,000, and RM1,000 for first, second, and third places respectively.

Redline Fitness Games will return for a third time in 2025, continuing its mission to promote fitness and foster community spirit among Malaysians.
