Production of Mazda 6e starts in China


BEIJING: The Mazda 6e has rolled off the assembly line at the Changan-Mazda Nanjing Plant in China, reported carnewschina.com.

Built based on the Changan EPA hybrid platform, the EV (electric vehicle) variant is powered by a rear electric motor that outputs a maximum power of 190kW (255hp) and a peak torque of 320Nm, matched with either 56.1kWh or 68.8kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs.

The CLTC cruising range is 480km and 600km, respectively.

The official fast charging time to recharge the battery from 30% to 80% power is 15 minutes.

The extended range electric vehicle (EREV) variant is equipped with a rear 160kW (215hp)/320Nm electric motor and a 1.5-litre engine, paired with 18.9kWh or 28.4kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs, providing a corresponding CLTC pure electric cruising range of 130km and 200km, respectively.

The comprehensive range is up to 1,301km.

It takes 20 minutes to recharge the battery from 30% to 80% under fast charging.

Two versions will be launched in the European market:

- Long Range: 180kW (241hp)/320Nm rear electric motor, 80kWh ternary lithium battery pack, and a WLTP range of 552km
- Standard: 190kW (255hp)/320Nm rear electric motor, 68.8kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, and a WLTP range of 479km
