Porsche unveils new 911 GT3 variants for 25th anniversary

STUTTGART: Porsche is celebrating 25 years of the iconic 911 GT3 by unveiling two new versions of the sports car for the first time.

These variants include the standard track-focused model with a rear wing and the more understated Touring package.

The new 911 GT3 comes equipped with extensive customisation options, innovative lightweight features, and a powerful 4.0-litre naturally aspirated engine.

Customers can tailor their vehicles to suit personal preferences and driving conditions, whether on the racetrack or everyday roads.

Both variants of the 911 GT3 feature improved aerodynamics, including a redesigned front diffuser and underbody fins that increase downforce and optimise airflow.

The rear wing on the standard model has new angled sideplates for enhanced performance.

Updated Matrix LED headlights and redesigned rear air inlets further modernise the GT3's styling. The Touring package, however, replaces the fixed wing with an extendable rear spoiler for a cleaner, more elegant look, preserving the 911's classic lines.

The new 911 GT3 is powered by a 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, producing 375 kW (510 PS) and 450 Nm of torque.

The car’s lightweight design is a key feature, with magnesium and aluminium components reducing weight by up to 9 kg.

An optional Weissach package adds carbon fibre components, further trimming weight for track performance.

The car’s optimised suspension system, derived from the 911 GT3 RS, improves stability and downforce, making the GT3 even more capable on challenging road conditions.

The Touring package, a popular option that eliminates the rear wing, offers a more discreet design for the 911 GT3.

Its rear spoiler with a Gurney flap maintains aerodynamic balance without compromising the sleek profile.

The interior features high-quality leather upholstery, offering a refined yet sporty atmosphere. The Touring package also includes an optional rear seat system, making it suitable for those seeking more everyday usability without sacrificing the car's sporting character.

Porsche’s engineers have adopted lightweight construction throughout the 911 GT3’s design.

The car’s aluminium wheels, lithium-ion battery, and magnesium options contribute to its reduced weight, allowing for better agility and handling.

Weighing as little as 1,420 kg in its lightest configuration, the GT3 is among the most nimble sports cars in its class. Both the 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission and the 6-speed manual transmission feature shorter gear ratios, enhancing driving dynamics.

Porsche is offering several customisation options for the new 911 GT3, including the Weissach and Leichtbau packages. The Weissach package adds a range of carbon fibre components, while the Leichtbau package offers lightweight magnesium wheels and reduced weight door panels for the Touring model.

The Clubsport package, available at no extra cost, equips the GT3 with a roll cage, 6-point harness, and a fire extinguisher for serious track use.

The 911 GT3 accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 3.4 seconds with the PDK transmission, reaching a top speed of 311kph.

The manual version achieves a top speed of 313kph.

Porsche has fine-tuned the suspension system to improve handling on rough terrain, and the car's anti-dive system reduces pitching during hard braking. This results in more consistent handling under various conditions, offering drivers increased confidence, especially on the track.

Porsche Design has also launched a chronograph for 911 GT3 owners. The watch reflects the car’s design, featuring a titanium case and a dial inspired by the GT3’s instrument panel. Customisation options for the watch match the car's exterior colours, creating a unified look for Porsche enthusiasts.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 and the 911 GT3 with Touring package will be available for order by the end of the year.
