Porsche Malaysia celebrates 1,000th locally assembled Cayenne
By CARSIFU | 01 June 2023KULIM, Kedah: Porsche Malaysia, represented by Sime Darby Auto Performance, celebrated a significant milestone as the 1,000th Porsche Cayenne rolled off the production line at its assembly facility at Inokom in Kulim, Kedah.
This is the first local assembly facility for Porsche outside of Europe and was inaugurated in March 2022.
“Our local assembly facility in Inokom continues to support our growth, to meet the demand from sports car fans in Malaysia. This growth in demand also speaks volumes about our high quality – proof that a Porsche is built to the highest standards,” said Christopher Hunter, CEO of Sime Darby Auto Performance.
The local assembly facility continues to be 100% staffed by Malaysians.
Lifestyle-oriented accessories are available upon request for the locally assembled Cayenne, including a roof transport system with a bicycle rack, a luggage net, a luggage compartment liner, all-weather floor mats, and a car care case.
Meanwhile, the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur Package option adds a SportDesign exterior package, a Sports exhaust system, LED taillights, LED door projectors that cast the Porsche logo upon door opening, and matching vehicle key.
A bespoke Porsche Design custom-made chronograph is also available.
The coloured ring on the dial is customisable based on the colours of the Cayenne, and additional individual engraving can be performed to make the piece truly one of a kind.
