Porsche 911 GT model: Debut on Oct 18

STUTTGART: The first GT model of the Porsche new 911 generation will have its world premiere on Oct 18.

The new 911 from the GT department in Flacht will be presented in two variants at the same time.

Both have become even more "emotional", offer customers even more individuality and feature innovative details.

According to roadandtrack.com,  the reveal is expected to be a 992.2 generation update to the 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 Touring.

The 992.2 line surfaced in May with the new GTS, which was the first-ever hybrid 911.

"The long-awaited, PDK-only hybrid powertrain in that car is not necessarily going to feature in the next GT3, which is typically designed around high-revving, driver-focused thrills over outright performance, efficiency, or anything else. Other updates, like the digital central tachometer, should follow from the hybrid 992.2 onto its track-focused counterpart," said roadandtrack.com.

Porsche’s teaser image reveals the side silhouette of a 911 cloaked in shadows, which provides enough clues to suggest what might be on the way. The prominent rear wing appears to show a swan-neck design that resembles that of the 991.1-gen GT3.

A roll bar is visible inside the car and the driver is wearing a helmet, which clearly suggest the car's track-focused intent.
