By CARSIFU | 03 February 2025GOTHENBURG: Polestar has introduced a new collection of Arctic Circle cars, expanding on the success of the 2022 Polestar 2 Arctic Circle.
The line-up now includes unique versions of the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, each designed with rally-inspired features that highlight the Swedish brand’s performance capabilities. These one-off cars were showcased at the 2025 FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria, on Feb 1.
The Arctic Circle cars, developed under extreme conditions in northern Sweden, represent Polestar’s motorsport heritage and Scandinavian design.
CEO Michael Lohscheller said the brand’s focus was on combining performance with style, stating that the event demonstrated the cars’ abilities on ice.
Polestar’s performance mission, overseen by Joakim Rydholm, Head of Driving Dynamics, draws from his extensive motorsport experience.
Rydholm said adapting the Arctic Circle formula to the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 posed challenges but also offered exciting opportunities. He highlighted the collaboration with key technology partners to enhance driving performance.
The cars feature a raised ride height, custom 3-way adjustable Öhlins dampers, specialised Pirelli studded tyres, and OZ Racing wheels, along with Recaro bucket seats.
Rally-inspired accessories, such as skis, roof racks, and recovery gear, further reinforce the vehicles’ adventurous spirit.
The cars are built at Polestar’s Swedish R&D facility.
