Peugeot completes EV line-up as orders open for the e-408

LONDON: Peugeot has completed its EV line-up as its new e-408 goes on sale.

The e-408 uses a 58kWh battery pack and electric motor that produces a total of 210bhp and Peugeot claims that it can do up to 453 km on a single charge.

As standard, the car is compatible with up to 120kW DC rapid charging, allowing for a 20 to 80% top-up in just over half an hour.

To keep things simple, Peugeot will be offering the e-408 in just two trim levels.

The entry-level Allure features the firm’s i-cockpit, including a 10-inch customisable digital driver’s instrument display and 10-inch infotainment screen, LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated steering and driver’s seat as well as an efficiency-boosting heat pump.

Moving up to the pricier GT, it boasts Matrix LED headlights, 3D LED tail lights, ambient lighting, an electric tailgate and front parking sensors.

Peugeot also ensures peace of mind when it comes to its EVs and the e-408 is no different with the firm’s Allure Care package, which gives eight years of cover on key electrical and mechanical components – including the battery pack.

“The new e-408 completes Peugeot’s all-electric product range, the first mainstream European manufacturer to offer such a diverse electric line up," said Peugeot UK managing director Eurig Druce.

“As a future-looking brand, we are proud to be at the forefront of electrification and are committed to growing our EV market share. Over the past two months, Peugeot’s electric share is over one per cent above that of the legacy market share, highlighting our positive performance in the electric market.”

Order books are open now, with first deliveries expected to start in the summer of 2025. — PA Media/dpa
