A reason for film buffs to flock to Mercedes-Benz Museum


STUTTGART: “Roll the film!” is the motto of the open-air cinema at the Mercedes-Benz Museum from tomorrow.

The popular event series will once again offer a varied film programme from Aug 22 to Sept 8.

From blockbusters and documentaries to animated hits – this year’s film selection promises unforgettable cinema experiences under the stars.

Tickets can only be bought online at www.mercedes-benz.com/oak. They are priced at 12 euros (RM59) each.

Cinema experiences for every taste

The programme selection offers a colourful mix of genres and styles.

With films such as the science fiction blockbuster “Dune – Part Two”, the exciting action comedy “Deadpool & Wolverine” and the sensitive biopic “Back to Black”, there’s something for everyone.

For nature and adventure lovers, there is the “International Ocean Film Tour Vol. 10” and the “European Outdoor Film Tour 2023” with breathtaking shots and fascinating stories.

“Despicable Me 4” provides family entertainment and fun for young and old.

In cooperation with the Mercedes-Benz AG network “Queers & Friends”, the fantastic romantic drama “All of Us Strangers” will be shown, preceded by a talk on the topic of “queerness in film”.

Admission to the open-air cinema screenings starts at 7pm. The films start at sunset.

In keeping with the movie feeling, the cinema bar offers a small selection of various drinks, popcorn and other snacks.

All films will be shown in their German versions without English subtitles.

The film programme of the Open-air Cinema 2024:

- Aug 22, 9 pm: “VfB in Team – The season finale” (2024). The last episode of the VfB Stuttgart football documentary about the 2023/2024 season.

- Aug 23, 9 pm: “A million minutes” (2024). A father rethinks his priorities after his daughter wants more time together.

- Aug 24, 9 pm: “Back to Black” (2024). Amy Winehouse is discovered in London’s music scene and experiences a rapid rise to stardom.

-Aug 25, 9 pm: “The Fall Guy” (2024). After an accident, stuntman Colt Seavers hunts down a missing film star and uncovers a conspiracy.

- Aug 27, 8:45 pm: “Wicked little letters” (2024). Rose Gooding is falsely accused of writing scandalous letters in a small town.

- Aug 28, 8:45 pm: “EOFT 2023 – European Outdoor Film Tour”. Exciting adventures in various extreme sports worldwide.

- Aug 29, 8:45 pm: “Cocorico” (2024). A DNA test threatens a planned wedding between a noblewoman and a car dealer.

- Aug 30, 8:45 pm: “Despicable Me 4” (2024). Gru and his family fight an old enemy who is out for revenge.

- Aug 31, 8:30 pm: “Chantal in Fairyland” (2024). Influencer Chantal has to assert herself against magical threats in a fairytale world.

- Sept 1, 8:30 pm: “Challengers” (2024). A tennis coach registers her husband for a tournament to revitalise his sporting career.

- Sept 3, 8:30 pm: “International Ocean Film Tour Vol. 10” (2024). Five films take you into different water worlds.

- Sept 4, 8:30 pm: “All of Us Strangers” (2024). Adam meets a mysterious neighbour and is confronted with his past.

- Sept 5, 8:30 pm: “Kinds of Kindness” (2024). A modern triptych fairytale about people seeking control and spiritual guidance.

- Sept 6, 8:30 pm: “Deadpool & Wolverine” (2024). Deadpool and Wolverine join forces against a common enemy.

- Sept 7, 8:30 pm: “Dune – Part Two” (2024). Paul Atreides fights for revenge and against a dark vision of the future.

- Sept 8, 8:30 pm: “Fly Me to the Moon” (2024). A marketing expert plans a fake moon landing as a backup for a real mission.
