NIO ET9 luxury flagship: 4 seats, 35 audio speakers, 650km (CLTC)
By CARSIFU | 26 December 2024GUANGZHOU: The NIO ET9 four-seater executive luxury flagship was launched recently in China at 788,000 (RM482,464) yuan.
A limited First Edition run of 999 units priced at 818,000 (RM500,832) yuan was instantly sold out at launch, and deliveries will start in March 2025.
The ET9 features a 5.325-metre ultra-long body and class-Leading width (2,017mm), suspension travel (220mm) and ground clearance (200mm).
Built on a 900V high-voltage electrical architecture, it is powered by a 100kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery pack, and a dual-motor setup with 707PS and 700Nm of torque, which promises up to 650km of range (CLTC).
A highlight here is the NIO Lyra 35-speaker audio system which promises a one-of-a-kind audio experience and features industry-first rear centre speakers, as well as headrest speakers and dual subwoofers.
NIO says the ET9 integrates the company's 12 full stack self-developed technologies, and is the result of over 53 billion yuan (RM32.45bil) in R&D (research and development) investment over 10 years, including several world-first innovative technologies and 1,083 patents.
The cabin is divided into four exclusive spaces offering comfort and privacy, and promises a first-class travel experience with a 582mm ultra-wide seat cushion, nearly two sq meters of full-area heating, and 16-point hot stone massage function.
The NIO ET9 also integrates the company's SkyRide steer-by-wire, rear-wheel steering, and full active suspension technologies.
NIO says the ET9 uses a world-first integrated hydraulic fully active suspension, which integrates the shock absorber with the active suspension electric drive unit, allowing the car to deliver a large range of adjustments for stiffness, damping, and height - thus resulting in an ultra-comfortable driving experience.
