PETALING JAYA: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today launched the all-new GLC 300 4Matic Coupé alongside the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe 4Matic+. Both arrive as fully imported models.
The GLC Coupe is priced at RM469,888 (on-the-road without insurance with 10% sales tax), while the GLE 53 is going for RM873,888. A locally assembled version of the GLC Coupe is expected to make its entry by 2024.
The GLC Coupe, the sporty sibling of the GLC SUV, combines efficiency with a visually striking design, featuring a sporty coupé silhouette that exudes elegance and dynamism.
It's a mild hybrid with 48-volt technology and an integrated starter-generator for an extra boost and energy recuperation. Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 258hp at 5,800rpm and 400Nm from 2,000-3,200rpm. The ISG adds 23hp and 205Nm of torque.
Power goes to both all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0-100kph takes 6.3s and the vehicle can continue on towards a top speed of 246kph.
The all-wheel drive system is complemented by off-road features such as an off-road screen and a "transparent bonnet" as part of the 360° camera system.
The exterior design showcases the iconic Mercedes-Benz pattern on the radiator grille, along with dramatic surfaces and muscular wheel arches.
The AMG Line with Chrome package includes 20-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels and a brake system with enlarged and perforated brake discs.
The interior of the GLC Coupé features a sporty AMG Line interior with a multifunction sports steering wheel and nappa leather upholstery.
The dashboard is thoughtfully divided into two horizontal sections and includes a 12.3-inch high-resolution LCD screen in front of the driver and an 11.9-inch central display.
The all-new GLC Coupé also comes with advanced safety features such as the PRE-SAFE® system, Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and Active Brake Assist.
It also includes the GUARD 360° vehicle protection system, which monitors the vehicle's surroundings and includes a break-in and anti-theft alarm system.
The GLC Coupé is equipped with the latest generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system, which offers improved user friendliness and features a full-screen navigation system and MBUX Augmented Reality for navigation.
The vehicle also includes a Burmester sound system for enhanced audio performance.
