New Isuzu D-Max 4X2 automatic introduced at RM101,000
By CARSIFU | 12 October 2021PETALING JAYA: Isuzu Malaysia has unveiled a new 4X2 automatic variant of the Isuzu D-Max pick-up truck that promises a lower entry price, easier maintenance costs and higher levels of fuel economy.
Based on the latest third-generation D-Max, the new D-Max Auto Plus 4x2 1.9L is priced at RM100,999 on-the-road without insurance.
The high-rider variant is available for booking immediately with deliveries beginning early November.
The D-Max Auto Plus gets similar specifications as the D-Max Standard 4x4 1.9L Auto variant, starting with the new 1.9-litre RZ4E-TC, that produces a healthy 150PS at 3,600rpm and 350Nm of torque available from between 1,800 – 2,600rpm, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The D-Max Auto Plus gets the bold and dynamic looks of the current D-Max and comes with a matte grey grille, Bi-LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, and inset fog lamps integrated into the flanks of the bumper.
Inside, the instrument panel is an e-LUMAX display that is both pleasing to read in all lighting conditions, while the centre console features a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system with six-speakers that supports USB, Bluetooth, WiFi, MirrorLink, Miracast, Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay.
Seats come with woven-texture fabric that are both hard-wearing and easy to clean.
In addition to a 5-star Asean NCAP safety rating, making it one of the safest pick-up trucks on the market today, the D-Max Auto Plus also gets features such as anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Hill Descent Control (HDC) and Brake Override System (BOS).
The reverse camera is aided by four reverse sensors embedded into the integrated rear bumper, while wheels are the 17-inch alloy-type shod with 255/65 R17 HT radials for excellent ride and durability.
Available body colours are Splash White Solid, Mercury Silver Metallic, Onyx Black Mica, Sapphire Blue Mica and Valencia Orange Metallic.
Isuzu Malaysia chief operating officer Kenkichi Sogo said the new D-Max variant would be the sole 4X2 offering in its class that comes with an automatic transmission.
“In these challenging times, the new D-Max Auto Plus 4x2 1.9L brings a new level of relief by offering affordability and capability in a well-appointed and stylish package,” he said.
