KUALA LUMPUR: Dealers and members of the media were among over 200 people from across the region who were invited to Brisbane to try out the new BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3.
The tyre is the much improved successor to the All-Terrain T/A KO2.
The July 7-17 event attracted participants from eight countries across the East Asia and Australia region – namely Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. The heart of the action was held at Sirromet, a working vineyard and events venue that offers a mix of challenging trails and scenic views.
The group were among the first in the region to experience first-hand the toughness, traction and treadwear performance of the KO3 before it is launched in September.
The KO3 will arrive in Malaysian tyre dealerships from October.
The tyre is designed for crossovers/sports utility vehicles and pickup trucks. BFGoodrich said the tyre is ideal for use in such vehicles as Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Ford Everest, Ford Ranger Raptor and Mazda BT50.
The KO3 was introduced nearly a decade after its predecessor, incorporating the latest tyre technologies to improve upon its predecessor’s performance in three key areas:
> Toughness with CoreGard Technology and Advanced Deflection Design for enhanced sidewall toughness.
> Traction with the updated serrated shoulder design and mud-phobic bars for better
mud traction.
> Treadwear with a new tread compound for greater durability and longevity, even on gravel roads, plus optimised interlocking tread elements for even wear over the long haul
Participants at the Brisbane event also had a chance to experience the on-road and off-road qualities of the KO3 tyre.
