Most powerful Porsche Panamera yet is a plug-in hybrid

STUTTGART: Porsche has introduced its new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and Panamera GTS variants, both designed to set new standards in luxury and performance.

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is the most powerful Panamera to date, combining luxurious driving with racetrack-level performance.

The plug-in hybrid features a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined output of 782 PS and 1,000Nm of torque. This model accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 325kph.

The hybrid system enhances efficiency, offering a greater electric range and faster charging times. The high voltage battery, with a capacity of 25.9 kWh, provides an electric range of up to 88 km. The on-board 11kW AC charger allows a full battery charge in two hours and 39 minutes.

A notable achievement for the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is its record-setting lap time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Porsche test driver Lars Kern completed the 20.832-kilometre lap in 7:24.172 minutes, setting a new record for hybrid luxury saloons. The record was achieved with a racing seat and safety cage, but otherwise, the car matched the production model.

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid also features distinctive design elements, including a rear bumper and front end in the exterior color, chrome-plated tailpipes in Dark Bronze, and optional Acid Green accents. The interior boasts Turbonite, a metallic grey tone exclusive to Turbo variants, used on various trim elements, controls, and stitching.

Porsche has equipped the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid with comprehensive standard features, including the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system and the Porsche Active Ride suspension, which actively compensates for body movements to maintain stability. The car also includes advanced driving dynamics control systems and a Bose sound system.

Alongside the Turbo S E-Hybrid, Porsche also launched the Panamera GTS, focusing on purism and agility.

The GTS variant, powered by an upgraded V8 biturbo engine delivering 500 PS, accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 302kph.

The Panamera GTS features a sporty chassis, a distinctive SportDesign package, and a luxurious interior with Race-Tex upholstery.

The new Panamera variants are now available to order, with deliveries in Germany starting in autumn 2024.

Both variants benefit from the many new features of the third generation of the Panamera.

These include the Porsche Driver Experience control concept, the high-resolution and particularly far reach of the HD matrix LED light, comprehensively extended connectivity functions such as the deeper integration of Apple CarPlay, video streaming on the optional Passenger Display, and the option of parking the car from outside using a smartphone app.

The Executive trim of the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid with a long wheelbase is offered on a market-specific basis; the four-zone automatic climate control and the large centre console are included as standard. The Panamera GTS comes exclusively as a sports saloon with a short wheelbase.
