Google Assistant may become even more useful to drivers one day

SAN FRANCISCO: Google will be adding a feature that drivers are bound to fall in love with.
The California-based tech company is integrating a new user-defined voice shortcuts feature into Google Assistant.
Although voice command has been around for years, the company is said to be working on honing Google Assistant's capability to allow users to customise voice commands within the app.
Wouldn't it be cool to trigger Twitter to tweet with this simple command?: "Hey Google, new tweet".
The feature would also be able to launch Google Maps to display saved places or the timeline; it could even allow a user to share a location with a contact.
At this stage, there's limited functionality with regards to voice shortcuts in Google Asssitan. But it holds the promise of greater utility in the future as Google engineers continue to refine it.
It could also see the integration of Google Assistant into vehicles soon to provide some competition to Apple's Siri which is found in Volkswagen’s Car-Net app.
