Modenas launches new logo and brand identity

KUALA LUMPUR: Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional (Modenas), subsidiary of DRB-Hicom Bhd has launched a new logo and brand identity, marking its bold ambitions for the future that focuses on global expansion, new technologies, and cleaner solutions.

The national motorcycle company today launched its refreshed logo which is inspired by the iconic Modenas “M” symbol in a bold, modern style, within a circle to convey precision and a renewed identity.

While keeping its signature blue and white colours, the updated logo introduces a Modenas grey and platinum variant.

The introduction of a new Road Star Element also reflects the brand’s new direction, emphasising its industry leadership, adaptability, and commitment to growth.

Launching the new brand today was Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, group chairman of Modenas and group managing director of DRB-Hicom.

Also present were Faizal Mohd Yusof, senior director of Industry and Development at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Azrul Reza Aziz, CEO of the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), as well as Roslan Roskan, CEO of Modenas.

On the rebranding effort, Roslan states, “Modenas represents a Malaysian-built legacy. We’ve established a strong foundation in Malaysia, but our ambitions extend far beyond.

"The mobility industry is rapidly evolving, driven by the urgent need for energy transition and growing concerns for environmental sustainability. With this, our renewed vision will see us bringing excitement that connects people and communities, by providing value, technology, and sustainable products globally.”

To commemorate this milestone, Modenas unveiled an upgraded, eco-friendly variant of the Modenas Kriss 110, the first Kriss variant to meet the stringent Euro 4 emissions standards, this model showcases Modenas' commitment to sustainability and compliance with global environmental regulations.

This also marks the expanded footprint of Modenas towards a broader initiative to introduce more environmentally friendly variants moving forward.

Modenas’ strategic collaborations with global manufacturers such as Kawasaki Motors Ltd, (KMC), Kwang Yang Motor Co., Ltd (Kymco) of Taiwan, and Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL) of India have facilitated expansion into international markets including Greece, South America, Russia, Thailand, and more recently China in 2024 with the locally assembled Kawasaki ZX-6R.

In line with its newly established commitment to eco-friendly motorcycle technologies, Modenas is also actively shaping a cleaner future.

This strategy is already taking shape, as seen in its supply of MEV-1 electric motorcycles to Pos Malaysia since 2023, supporting the national courier’s net zero mission.
