KUALA LUMPUR: The new locally assembled, petrol-powered MINI Countryman S ALL4 makes a bold statement – taller and lengthier (compared to its predecessor), like its electrified counterpart.
Its estimated price with SST (sales and service tax, on the road, without insurance) is RM259,000 and comes with the standard two-year warranty.
Adding on an extended warranty and service package brings the estimated price to RM270,000.
Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, the Countryman S ALL4 delivers 204HP and 300Nm of torque, achieving a 0-100kph sprint in 7.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 228kph.
As for performance, its slightly wider track width and increased wheelbase, in combination with the finely tuned damping system paired with ultra-preloaded anti-roll bars, deliver the trademark MINI go-kart sensation.
Highlights include the Countryman S ALL4’s all-wheel drive powertrain, robust crossover design, upright profile and a slightly widened track, as well as 20-inch Windmill Spoke wheels in two-tone, and LED headlights enhanced with a high-beam assistant and three adjustable light signatures.
Driving-related information is displayed on the MINI Head-Up Display behind the sport steering wheel, and a unique-to-the-industry 240mm round OLED display provides a touch-based interface.
It has John Cooper Works sport seats, with active seat specifically for the driver.
Both powered front seats have vegan leather on the sides, and the driver's seat come with memory and massage function.
The rear seats have a sliding adjustment feature, for either extra legroom or an expanded bootspace.
The Countryman S ALL4’s 505-litre luggage capacity is expandable to 1,530 litres.
Each rear seat can be individually adjusted to six positions, including up to a 12-degree tilt.
Other interior features include the comfort access system, Comfort Package Plus interior rear-view mirror with automatic anti-dazzle function, headliner anthracite, and a 12-speaker 365W Harman Kardon surround sound system.
In terms of driving assistance, it has Driving Assistant as standard, which includes Lane Change Warning (warning when turning and active lane return), Lane Departure Warning with active steering intervention, Speed Limit Info and Manual Speed Limit Assist, Cruise Control with braking function, Front Collision Warning with brake intervention, Evasion Assistant, Rear Crossing Traffic Warning with brake intervention, Rear-end Collision Prevention and Exit Warning.
Also included as standard is Parking Assistant Plus, which includes Park Assist, Reversing assistant up to 50m, Active Park Distance Control, Drive off monitoring, Rear panorama view, Parking view, Panorama view, Remote 3D View, BMW Drive Recorder and Anti-theft recorder (external).
Driving Assistant Plus is available for the Countryman S ALL4 which includes Active cruise control with Stop and Go, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Manual and Automatic Speed Limit Assistant.
Exterior colour options include Smokey Green, Slate Blue, Chili Red, Melting Silver, Nanuq White and Blazing Blue, while the interior colour is available in Dark Petrol.
