Mercedes-Benz GLA 200 upgraded
By CARSIFU | 20 January 2024PETALING JAYA: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia on Friday launched the upgraded GLA 200, a compact model that serves as the entry point to the brand's SUV family.
The refreshed model, priced at RM258,888, integrates modern technology with practical everyday use.
The locally assembled GLA features a revamped exterior design, starting with a redesigned radiator grille, including a central Mercedes-Benz star and black accents.
The bonnet is subtly reshaped with power domes, adding to its confident look. The front bumper is redesigned for an off-road appearance, and the rear bumper includes a diffuser to emphasise the vehicle's sportiness. The front apron sports a silver simulated underguard. New to the GLA is the Spectral Blue metallic paint finish and 18-inch light-alloy wheels in tremolite grey.
Inside, the GLA boasts a 10.25-inch double screen, enhancing its high-tech ambiance. The multifunction sports steering wheel, now with touch-control panels, is wrapped in leather.
Seats are upholstered in Artico man-made leather in black, complemented by Star Pattern trim elements.
The backrests offer variable folding options for flexibility. The new GLA also features enhanced safety technologies, including Blind Spot Assist, Exit Warning Assist, and Active Brake Assist. A Parking Package with reverse camera and Mirror Package is included, along with the Dynamic Select system for adjustable drive modes.
The GLA is equipped with the Keyless-Go Comfort Package for easy vehicle access and the Hands-Free Access system for convenient tailgate operation. The Easy-Pack tailgate enhances loading and unloading convenience. Guard 360° Vehicle protection provides all-round monitoring, and the vehicle is equipped with Tirefit and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The latest generation of MBUX is featured in the new GLA, offering intuitive operation and adaptive software with various personalisation options. Smartphone Integration is now available wirelessly, and the vehicle includes USB Package Plus with five illuminated USB-C ports.
The front-wheel drive GLA is powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 7G-DCT automatic transmission. This setup enables the GLA to accelerate from 0-100kph in 8.9 seconds, delivering 163hp and a maximum torque of 250Nm.
