BANGKOK: The Mazda6e is set to launch in Thailand in 2025, marking a significant step in Mazda’s drive towards electrification.
The new battery-electric vehicle (BEV) will be unveiled in Thailand following its debut last month at the Brussels Motor Show and is scheduled for a later launch in Europe.
Developed in partnership with Changan Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd – a joint venture between Mazda and Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd in China – the Mazda6e will be available in Europe and Thailand. It is sold in China as the Mazda EZ-6.
Between 2025 and 2027, Mazda plans to introduce a total of five electrified models, comprising two BEVs, one plug-in hybrid and two hybrids. As one of the BEVs, the Mazda6e combines Mazda’s celebrated design, craftsmanship and the Jinba-ittai driving experience with advanced electrification and smart-cabin technology provided by Changan Auto.

Having operated in Thailand since 1955, Mazda is now expanding its electric vehicle range in a market rapidly embracing electrification.
At a press conference here last Friday, Mazda Motor Corporation and Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd announced an investment of 5 billion Thai baht (RM658mil) into Auto Alliance (Thailand) Co., Ltd, the company’s manufacturing plant.
This investment will transform the plant into a hub for new compact SUVs with an annual production capacity of 100,000 units. The upgraded facility is expected to serve domestic demand while also acting as an export base for vehicles destined for Japan and the broader Asean region. And it's very likely Malaysia will receive the China-made Mazda6e following its debut in Thailand.
