KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will be the first country in South-East Asia to launch the JAECOO J7 premium SUV (sport utility vehicle) in the first half of 2024.
The J7, billed as a durable and versatile off-road vehicle, features an All Road Drive Intelligent System (ARDIS) for performance across various terrains.
All models are equipped with the 7nm Qualcomm 8155 chip, which provides remarkable computing power and responsiveness, including a 2-second boot-up time and the ability to process over 20 commands in 30 seconds.
The J7 model stands out with its 14.8-inch panoramic screen, full LCD dashboard, and innovative W-HUD head-up display, ensuring a user-centric, fluid interaction.
In January 2024, the J7 showed off its off-roading chops in tests conducted by the Malaysia 4WD Training and Experience Centre (M4TREC).
M4TREC is touted as a world-class 4WD obstacle course with challenging terrain.
M4TREC's expert trainers set up a variety of obstacles during testing, including roller ramps, articulation tests, ridge crossings, steep slope descents and more.
The J7 showed what the experts claimed to be peer-leading capability on tough road conditions, while its chassis tuning delivered impressive results in the moose test at 80kph.
The J7, equipped with the ARDIS, offers the most diverse driving modes in its class, including sand, snowfield, mud, and other seven off-road conditions, addressing most of the challenging driving conditions with scenario-based technological logic.
Furthermore, benefiting from the BOSCH Intelligent Power Brake (IPB) control system, ARDIS can achieve the fastest response time of less than 0.1 seconds in its class.
The J7 comes with a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol direct injection (TGDI) engine and a 7DCT wet dual-clutch transmission, with power output of 145kW (197ps) and peak torque of 290Nm.
