Lexus LF-ZC: 1st showcase in Australia

SYDNEY: The new Lexus vision for luxury mobility and intelligent connections between driver and car will be showcased to the Australian public for the first time in November with the Lexus Future Zero emission Catalyst (LF-ZC) concept.

The LF-ZC concept makes its first trip into the southern hemisphere after captivating audiences around the world following its global unveiling at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show.

It is the showpiece for Lexus at this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival (02-09 November), where the spotlight for the seventh consecutive year will once again shine on the luxury brand as exclusive sponsor of the Lexus Melbourne Cup, the nation’s most iconic cultural and sporting event.

Under the theme Future Catalyst 35 – where Lexus celebrates 35 years of innovation and its vision for an all-electric future – the LF-ZC points to the bold and emotive styling luxury customers can expect with next-generation battery-electric vehicle (BEV) architecture, with advanced operating software making luxury mobility more personal for occupants than ever imagined.

Lexus Australia chief executive John Pappas said the LF-ZC concept brings to life the type of driving excitement customers can expect in an all-electric future.

“Thirty-five years ago, Lexus was born a disruptor, redefining automotive luxury and introducing an unrivalled ownership experience others would aspire to.

“Lexus set out to pioneer a new path and has achieved significant breakthroughs along the journey, most notably intelligent hybrid powertrain technology, helping customers reduce their carbon footprint compared to petrol-only cars without sacrificing vehicle performance.

“The motivation that drove Lexus in the past continues to provide the catalyst today, as we harness innovation to help inspire meaningful, positive change for the better.”

Future zero-tailpipe emission Lexus vehicles inspired by the LF-ZC concept will feature advanced AI software, providing a new connected experience where occupants’ preferences can be highly personalised and their needs anticipated in advance, in line with authentic Japanese omotenashi.

The LF-ZC shows how Lexus designers will be able to push the limits of striking and highly emotive exterior vehicle design with the next all-new BEV architecture.

The skateboard-like underpinnings not only unleash the potential for expressive outward styling, but also unshackles the constraints of conventional cabin layout with today’s internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle platforms.

Designers will work with more interior space and freedom to create the ultimate in personal luxury and comfort.
