Lekas Highway to shut temporarily on Oct 15 for night cycling race
By BERNAMA | 12 October 2022KUALA LUMPUR: The Kajang-Seremban Highway (Lekas) will be closed temporarily to all vehicles from 5pm on Oct 15 until 4am the next day, in conjunction with the annual night cycling race - the seventh edition of the RHB Lekas Highway Ride 2022 - involving 5,618 participants.
Lekas chief executive officer Wan Salwani Wan Yusoff said the road closure will start from Kajang Selatan Interchange to the Paroi Junction with 19 other junctions being closed for the event to ensure a smooth and safe ride for participants.
She said Lekas had identified several alternative routes during the closure to facilitate the mobility of motorists on the said days.
“Once the road closure takes place, northbound and southbound road users, such as from Kuala Lumpur, Cheras, Kajang, Seremban, Senawang and Kuala Pilah are advised to use the Federal Route 1 or PLUS Highway to continue their journey,” she said in a statement today.
