Latest bonkers Brabus G-wagon comes with matching boat and watch

BERLIN: Does anyone actually need a beefy off-roader with a matching boat and wristwatch, all finished in a military hue?

No, but here comes the latest Brabus SUV, boat and watch package anyway. The SUV is based on the Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4² which detractors might say is a decadent solution looking for a problem to solve.

Tuner Brabus seems confident of finding customers for it and has slapped a price tag of €855,015 (RM4.3mil) on the SUV - oh yes, if you want the boat and the watch as well that will be a cool €1.7 million (RM8.6mil) please.

To give the G-wagon more urge, Brabus boosts the standard 4.0-litre V8 lump to 800hp and gives it a stump-pulling 1,000Nm of torque.

This allows the brawny off-roader to sprint to 100kph in 4.6 seconds. Owing to the off-road tyres, however, the company has limited top speed to 210kph.

The matching Brabus Shadow 900 Stealth Green Signature Edition sports boat should churn some excitement on the water too.

Powered by two Mercury Marine 450R 4.6-litre V8 engines producing 900 hp, it can manage more than 60 knots (or 111kph). The boat was built in cooperation with the Axopar Shipyard in Finland.

Meanwhile the Panerai Submersible S Brabus Verde Military Edition timepiece has an oversized 47-millimetre case made of a carbon fibre composite that is said to be lighter than titanium. The watch is water-resistant to a depth of 300 metres and limited to 200 pieces.

For years, menacing-looking tuned G-wagons, mostly in black, have been a preferred means of transport for celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger and the late German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
