Jaecoo dealerships gets first batch of 500 Omoda C9 SUV coupe units

KUALA LUMPUR: Jaecoo in Malaysia has delivered up to 500 units of the Omoda C9 SUV Coupe to dealerships nationwide.

The C9 is available in two variants: all-wheel drive (AWD) at RM188,800 and two-wheel drive (2WD) at RM168,800.

Warranty is seven years or up to 150,000km mileage (whichever comes first).

While a few South-East Asian automotive markets experienced an overall decline in sales in 2024, others like Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore bucked the trend with greater growth.

In the past few months, Jaecoo has been listed among brands that have captured national and international market attention for making good strides with its SUV products.

Jaecoo Malaysia vice-president Emily Lek said the bulk delivery was part of the company's move to introduce such vehicles to Malaysians.

"We’re ready to take our customers on the next phase of their ownership journey with Jaecoo with the support of our dealers.

"Jaecoo is looking forward to steadily contributing to the healthy growth of the industry as a whole which ultimately benefits consumers," she said.

Jaecoo is a sub-brand of Chery Auto that focuses on selling "premium off-road SUVs". While Chery sells the Tiggo series and Omoda 5 and Omoda E5 in Malaysia, it has decided to park the Omoda C9 under Jaecoo for its perceived premium brand position.
