Isuzu D-Max enhanced for 2023
By CARSIFU | 16 February 2023KUALA LUMPUR: Isuzu Malaysia's popular D-Max pick-up truck line-up has been updated for 2023 and now comes with new body colours and a range of features.
The new line-up gets a more dynamic-looking redesigned "fanged" radiator grille that is available across all variants of X-Terrain, Premium, Auto Plus, Standard and Single Cab.
Among others, the company has introduced a new trendy colour of Islay Gray Mica for the flagship X-Terrain and Premium variants, as well as replacing the previous Silky Pearl White with the more lustrous new Dolomite White Pearl.
The Sapphire Blue is also replaced with the livelier Biarritz Blue Metallic and the new shade is available in the Premium automatic, Auto Plus and Standard automatic variants.
Aside from the new radiator grille design, the D-Max also gets new alloy wheel designs in 18- and 17-inches for a sportier appearance.
The seats are also redesigned and in black now with the X-Terrain getting a new Cafe Brown finish on most of its soft-touch interior.
Overall, the 2023 D-Max line-up still uses the 3.0-litre VGS engine with 190PS/450NM or the 1.9-litre VGS with 150PS/350Nm and a six-speed automatic or manual transmission in 4X4 or 4X2 drivetrain.
The electronic rear differential lock, previously only offered in X-Terrain, is now available in all variants with 4X4 drivetrain.
Aside from the blue ambient lighting for footwells, the X-Terrain also gets a high-resolution digital recorder to capture videos of 1440p at the front and 1080p at the rear of the pick-up truck.
Footage can be saved to an onboard memory card or downloaded to a smartphone with an app.
In addition, the X-Terrain, Premium and Auto Plus also get an improved wireless smartphone charging pad with a 15W output for faster charging.
The wireless charging pad in X-Terrain and Premium is equipped with an additional 2.1A USB-C port to charge another device.
Other new inclusions include a new remote keyless entry and 12-volt power socket for the Single cab variant while the 3.0-litre Premium automatic is fitted with an uprated suspension now capable to handle loads of up to 775kg from 580kg previously.
Isuzu Malaysia chief executive officer Shunsuke Okazoe said the D-Max line-up had made tremendous inroads by being a highly innovative, sophisticated, safe and capable truck featuring handsome and modern styling.
"For 2023, we have taken it up a notch with a number of enhancements that will increase its appeal," he said.
Its chief operating officer Kenkichi Sogo said most of the updates to the 2023 D-Max were achieved through close collaboration between the company and Isuzu dealers.
"Through an intimate understanding of our customers' requirements, we are able to effect timely enhancements that meet the needs and desires of D-Max users," he said.
