LOS ANGELES: Infiniti launched its all-new QX55 sports utility vehicle via a one-of-a-kind streaming concert experience.
The QX55 - the successor to the FX, comes with 20-inch wheels as standard and a signature double-arch grille complemented by a stunning, origami-inspired mesh pattern.
All that gets flanked by standard LED headlights that mimic the human eye while the rear features "piano key" taillights with 45 separate LEDs in a single housing.
The brand's logo on the tailgate houses the power liftgate release.
Inside, the cabin features a dual-screen, InTouch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility, and multiple USB inputs for Android Auto compatibility and charging.
The upper 8.0-inch and lower 7.0-inch high-resolution screens inform the driver and entertain passengers with an available Bose audio system delivered through up to 16 speakers.
Leatherette, leather, or semi-aniline leather appointments for the seats adorn the QX55's spacious interior, and its sliding second-row seats provide flexible cargo capacity or increased legroom, depending on need.
Under the hood lies a Variable Compression turbocharged engine producing 268hp and 380nm of torque.
Power is managed by a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with manual shift mode for the standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system.
A Drive Mode Selector gives the driver with four programmable settings - Standard, Eco, Sport and Personal.
Three variants are offered - Luxe, Essential and Sensory, and will be arriving in the US and Canada in early 2021 with other markets to follow.
