Hyundai Starex continues to be available with Staria arrival
By CARSIFU | 04 November 2021PETALING JAYA: Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) is keeping the Starex around with the arrival of the Staria.
It is positioning the Staria Premium as a luxurious 7-seater MPV, while the Grand Starex will remain its sole 11-seater MPV.
HSDM said it would not be importing the 11-seater version of the Staria.
It said the Staria Premium is Hyundai’s first luxurious MPV on par with premium Japanese MPVs, and it sits in a category that is a notch higher than the Grand Starex.
The Grand Starex features a 2.5L turbodiesel engine that is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, swivel seats on the second row, a suite of safety features, and overhead display monitor among other features.
The Staria Premium is made to order directly from South Korea with a starting price of RM358,888 with a two-year or 50,000km (whichever comes first) warranty while the Grand Starex retails at a starting price of RM165,888 with a 5-year or 300,000km warranty (whichever comes first) as well as 3 years of free service.
All prices are on-the-road and only applicable for Peninsula Malaysia; they include the Penjana Sales Tax waiver but excludes insurance.
